Termites - Termites are white ant-like insects that eat wood. They are incredibly small so they can burrow into wood crevices or hide within wooden beams, walls, or furniture. For this reason, termites can go unnoticed for a long time and people don’t notice they have a termite infestation until they’ve wrought sizable damage. In Australia, termite infestations result in billions of dollars worth of damages to property every year. Such damages result in billions of dollars every year and property owners spend just as much on termite treatment and prevention.

Cockroaches - Cockroaches are a type of pest that is found all over the world. Cockroaches are incredibly resourceful and resilient. They can live anywhere; they eat anything, and they breed under almost any condition. Even in the cleanest homes, cockroaches can exist. They find food and water almost anywhere and they will find a way into your property by crawling through doors, windows, and pipes. They also enter through holes or cracks or by hitching a ride in any object you bring into your space, like bags, packages, etc. 

Spiders - Spiders are small arachnids with eight legs. They feed on insects and they’re also some of the most prevalent pests found indoors. Spiders like to build webs in dark, untouched, corners of rooms. Because they prey on other insects, they aren’t the worst pests to have around, however, they are still unwelcome in our homes and offices. Their webs are unsightly and dirty and they also scare a lot of people. Arachnophobia or fear of spiders is one of the most common phobias in the world. 

Rats - Rats are medium-sized rodents with long tails. They like to gnaw on fixtures and can; can damage plastic, wood, and weaker metals and concrete. Because of these, rats have been known to gnaw through pipes and wirings, causing water leakage, electricity disruptions, and sometimes, even fires. Every year, Australians spend billions due to property damages and accidents caused by rat infestations. Also, because rats eat almost anything and carry disease with them, eating food contaminated by rats can cause serious sickness.

Bed bugs - Bed bugs are small, brown parasites that feed on animal or human blood. Due to their size, they hide inside mattresses, headboards, or bed frames and can go unnoticed for a long time. They come out to bite people at night, during which they become engorged. After feeding, bed bugs skitter away, leaving behind itchy welts on the skin which are often mistaken for rashes. Because bed bugs are really small and have flat bodies, they can fit into the smallest holes and can go unnoticed for a long time.
